Wema Bukembe Development Organization
My name is Sharon Nafula, and I’m writing to express my sincere gratitude for everything that you have done for me. I want to tell you how your support changed my life and helped me achieve my dreams.
When I was only three years old, my father abandoned my family, leaving my mother with no job and two young children to take care of. We had to move from one place to another, hoping to find a place to call home, and life became a constant struggle. My mother did her best to provide for us, but it was never enough. In 2004, everything changed when we were taken in by Wema Children’s Centre. It was a turning point in our lives, and we were finally given the chance to have a better life. At Wema, we were given a home, education, and most importantly, love. The staff members at the centre treated us with kindness, and they became like a second family to us.
I remember the day we arrived at Wema. We were scared and confused, but the staff members welcomed us with open arms. For the first time in my life, I felt like I belonged somewhere. Wema became my new home, and I was surrounded by people who cared about me. I received a quality education that opened up doors to a brighter future. I attended Lotus of Highway School, and scored a university grade, something that I never thought would be possible. I studied Bachelor of Education: Biology and Agriculture. I am now a high school teacher, teaching these subjects to the next generation of students. I am grateful to have a job that allows me to use the knowledge and skills that I acquired at Wema to make a difference in the lives of others.
But my success is not just mine alone. I am also able to help support my family. I am contributing towards my sister’s university education, ensuring that she also has the same opportunities that I had. I am also supporting my mother and grandmother financially, helping to ensure that they have a comfortable life.
I cannot express how grateful I am for everything that Wema Children’s Centre has done for me. They gave me hope when there was none, and they believed in me when nobody else did. Without their support, I do not know where I would be today.
Thank you once again, Wema, for everything that you have done for me.
Sincerely,
Sharon Nafula.
