Wema Bukembe Development Organization
My name is Felista Nanjala Marie. I come from a family of three, my mother elder sister and I. Being raised by a single mother has really moulded me to be a strong willed woman for today’s world. Mum struggled to make ends meet from her casual job and affording quality education was foreign to me till we learnt of Wema centre.
My journey with Wema Centre dates back to the year 2007 when I joined Highway Academy grade 6 under full scholarship by Wema Centre. In the year 2010, I did my KCPE and I scored 399/500 marks. Luckily, I was sponsored by the Wings To Fly program by Equity Bank through my secondary school. In 2014, I sat for my KCSE and scored an A- of 75 points. I joined University of Eldoret to pursue a degree in Bachelor of Business Management, Finance and Banking option. Wema financed my entire university from school fees, accommodation to upkeep money.
Currently I’m working with Equity Bank as a relationship officer. I am able to provide for my family and take good care of myself
One day when registering my mother for the National Health Insurance Fund, I broke down. NHIF is so basic and costs kshs 500 but we could not afford the monthly payment. My mother can now enjoy medical services at any time with no fear of cost of medical charges. All this is due to the sacrifices made by my sponsors who saw me through my education journey. I am happy to tell my sponsors and Wema Centre, ‘I made it!’ My candle is lighting brighter and brighter each passing day.
Saying thank you to Wema Centre is literally an understatement, words fail me. You lit my candle when my family was hopeless. May God bless Wema Centre.
Thanks,
Felista
