Today we conducted our 6th session on climate change at Lotus of Highway School. The students were taught on environmental crises caused by climate change; including air pollution, water pollution and land pollution and the actions that can be taken by each individual to mitigate these. Air quality has deteriorated due to increase in the number of vehicles on the roads and industries in the city causing industrial pollution, Discharge of municipal and industrial wastes into water bodies has resulted to water pollution, Improper discharge of solid waste and discharges from landfills has contaminated the soil, deforestation has caused land pollution. Pollution has a huge impact on the health of the population. The students learnt about primary and secondary pollutants of air and natural and man-made sources of air pollution. The concept of a circular economy includes reduce, recycle, reuse and remanufacture. The students were urged to create environmental awareness to the community. Additional actions to be taken include:• Keeping the streets and neighborhoods clean by not littering and organize cleaning drives to keep the community clean and free of disease. • Planting trees in neighborhoods and in their places of work or education. • Reducing the carbon footprint by conserving water and energy and not wasting any food. • Creating environmental awareness
