Wema Bukembe Development Organization
Today we had our third session of the Climate Change and Environment Series. The students learnt today about natural resources -resources provided by mother nature for our health and well-being which include water, forest, mineral resources, air and land.
We also delved into the hydrological cycle, integrated water management, rain water management, waste water management, the process of recycling graywater, the process of recycling blackwater, water pollution, mineral resources, air quality, air quality index, and land. About forests they learnt about the crucial role forests play in the life of humans and also forest conservation methods. On water
management they learnt about rain water and wastewater and how both can be harvested, filtered, purified and reused for domestic use while avoiding wastage and pollution. Waste water includes both grey water and black water. Please find appended at the conclusion of this document some of the illustrations on water management presented during today’s session. The students asked questions and thereafter they were given assignments.

GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM is aimed at delivering climate education to children in rural schools. The climate curriculum is presented by Dr. Vasudevan Rajaram and Ms. Liz Jumah in collaboration with teachers using his book; Climate Change and Environment-How it Impacts us all. It also engages the children in tree planting in their schools, in public places and in their homes. Our vision is to stir school children into becoming climate warriors.
