Wema Bukembe Development Organization
Today we had our eighth session of the climate series. We talked about environmental stewardship which is critical in minimizing the impacts of climate change and leaving a better planet for future generations. It includes; planting teees, preventing water pollution, reducing our individual carbon footprint, and habitat conservation which includes protection of green spaces and forests. We also learnt about environmental legislations and the role of courts in enforcing environment laws and regulations. Finally we covered the role of NGOs and industry associations in community activism and environment/habitat conservation.
The green schools program is a curriculum aimed at delivering climate education to school children. The 10-module course is taught by Author Dr. Vasudevan Rajaram using his book Climate change and environment, in conjunction with Ms. Liz Jumah, a Climate Change and Environment champion.
