Wema Bukembe Development Organization
Today we covered two topics; doctor/public health and lawyer.
In our session, we delved into the world of healthcare, highlighting the distinction between the medical system and the realm of public health. In the medical system, students were introduced to careers such as doctors and nurses who provide direct patient care, as well as medical researchers and healthcare administrators who ensure the smooth operation of healthcare facilities.
Conversely, public health professionals work to improve the health of entire communities and populations. Opportunities in public health include epidemiologists who investigate disease outbreaks, health educators who promote wellness, and health policy experts who shape healthcare regulations. These roles differ from those in the medical system as they focus on disease prevention, health promotion, and community well-being.
We encouraged students to explore the multitude of careers available in both healthcare and public health, emphasizing the potential to contribute to individual patient care or work towards healthier communities.
