Today we covered jobs in the green economy. The students were taught several career opportunities in the green sector. Green jobs are jobs which aim to either improve energy and raw material efficiency, limit greenhouse emissions, minimize waste and pollution, protect and restore ecosystems or support adaptation to the effects of climate change. The Green economy is defined as the economy that promotes green infrastructure and renewable energy, and helps conserve clean water and clean air for all citizens of the world., Green jobs are found in nearly every industry including renewable energy, construction, oil and gas, healthcare, hospitality, government regulation. Careers in the green economy include; Agricultural engineering, civil engineering, biochemical engineering, mechanical engineering, nutrition, solar technician, wind mill technician, construction managers, electricians just to mention a few. The students were very eager to learn and asked questions on the academic requirements for these professions, and questions were answered appropriately
